Sharon Montgomery continues to provide world-class entertainment from her home base in Houston. A native Texan, Sharon is glad to come home to her roots after several years of globe-trotting performances and two years of life in the Big Apple. While in New York, she won the Backstage Bistro Female Vocalist award, performed regularly at Eighty-Eights in Greenwich Village, and recreated the role of Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas for the Nederlander theater organization.

Kyle a native Houstonian began his career as a saxophonist at a young age. Under the direction of Algernon Jones in Middle School and James P. Mosely and Alan Beverly at M.B. Smiley High School, he quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young saxophonist in the Houston area. Kyle’s fan base began to grow nationally and by the 1990’s Kyle was performing regularly. People were plugged into this “rising saxist with the sexy sound” as described by one critic. Kyle’s range of music stretches from Straight Ahead Jazz to Fusion, R&B, Gospel, Blues and Smooth Jazz. Kyle has performed with such artists as: Luther Vandross, Johnnie Taylor, Debarge, Bobby Lyle, Kirk Whalum, Regina Belle, Peter White, Joe Sample , Will Downing, Bob Baldwin, Marion Meadows, Ken Navarro, Howard Hewitt, Michael Ward, Joe Carmouche, Dave Marcellin, Derek Bordeaux, Kim Waters, Jeff Kashiwa, Conrad Johnson, Ronnie Laws, Ray Fuller, Kerry Wilkins, Hubert Laws and Althea Rene just to name a few.

Deborah Boily has been working in the Cabaret world for 15 years as well, creatingher own one-woman shows in French and in English. Deborah has brought her music to New York, Washington D.C., L.A. in the U.S. as well as the Fringe Festivals in Canada and in the summer of 2000 to Edinburgh, Scotland. While living in Paris, Deborah was a regular at the Hotel Westminster and while living in London, performed at The Green Room, Pizza on the Park, CentreStage and Jermyn Street Theater during her 2 years there.

Veronica has been providing a variety of music entertainment for over 20 years. This classy Diva is simply passionate about her music. She is a native Houstonian, who conveys the Smooth flavor to “SOS” (Smooth Old School). Her musical expression infuses excitement in a way that is unsurpassed. Her octave range is remarkable not to mention her assortment of melodic styles from the mellow to the soulful R&B grooves. V’s charismatic stage presence is purely captivating.
Her style is everywhere from Gospel or Jazz, like Billie Holiday or Natalie Cole to Country like Patsy Cline or Bonnie Raitt. Her love for music and people is clearly heard in her performance. “She sings from the heart and soul” as many of her admirers would say. Although she has had many opportunities to perform nationally, she chose to stay home with her two sons but has performed locally with many of Houston’s great artists and groups. She also worked closely with one of Houston’s great Jazz Pianists, Charles Reinhardt, III before his death as well as performed the Motown Show Revues at Miller Outdoor Theater. She has been featured in a local magazine called LINK, and her music has been showcased on KCOH during Sunday’s Jazz Sessions.

Julie Link has thrilled local and international audiences with her song and dance since the age of six with talents taking her from Community Theater and area clubs to performing across the country with various bands and dance companies, including The Jimmy Dee Orchestra, Cardinal Singers and The Jimmy Simmons Jazz Band.
During her commission with the USO, Julie performed in over 80 cities throughout Belgium, France, Holland, and Germany (including West Berlin) for which she (in recognition of her venture behind the Iron Curtain and support of freedom) received a declaration of “Guardian of Berlin’s Freedom” by the U.S. Army (Berlin Brigade).
She says she’s five foot tall - hmmm - don’t forget that dynamite comes in small packages and she can prove it by belting out a Broadway number bigger than Texas then turn around and bring an audience to tears with a beautiful bittersweet ballad.

Terry Pierce has been singing since the age of 3. Her style is everywhere from retro, say Judy Garland or Patsy Cline to Broadway and throw in some Streisand to boot! She toured professionally at the age of 15 with a USO show followed by an American Airlines Industrial Tour the following year. As a singer, she was touted by numerous national shows such as Phil Donahue and Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show”. She has headlined in her own show with the Fairmont Hotel chain in Dallas and Atlanta and opened for such stars as Eddy Arnold, George Gobble, Andy Griffith, John Gary and others in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. She also co-produced and hosted a Sunday Morning Talk show on Houston’s CBS Affiliate, Channel 11 “Houston Life”.

Jerry Atwood. Jerry Atwood, a Texas City native, is an all-around musical workhorse, playing standards, show tunes, R&B, disco, funk, country and most everything in between. Jerry started plunking out tunes at age two, began studying classical piano at age six and continued through high school, after which he left high-maintenance classical studies for more popular and spontaneous forms of music. He has worked as a professional pianist and one-man band for decades in the Houston area and around the country. He is very pleased to be working regularly with many excellent vocalists here at Phil & Derek’s.
